What's New:

Notifications when program updates are available at launch

Now users will not miss any important updates. As soon as a new version of the program becomes available, they will automatically receive a notification and will be able to download it when launching the software. Option to enable or disable customized tasks and mailings

Previously, it was only possible to add or delete either tasks or mailing triggers. Previously, there was a challenge that if after deletion these tasks or mailing triggers became needed again, tasks and mailing triggers had to be created anew. Now users can restore previously deleted tasks and mailing triggers with one click, which significantly simplifies and speeds up the process of working with the software.
Option to automate sending of reports with the help of Mailing triggers

Now it is possible to set up automatic sending of reports (similar to the functionality of the Statistics - Reports) using the Mailing triggers. As a result of flexible software settings, now users can configure the intervals when reports will be sent and the format of their delivery.

Accelerated program launch using TensorRT

Previously, each software launch took a longer time when the TensorRT optimizer was enabled. Now the software features implemented caching, which enables to perform each subsequent program launch much faster.

Option to enable and disable the counting zone

This setting provides the ability to optimize the computational load. Enabling the counting zone means that classification and counting will be performed only for objects which boundaries are within this zone (including boundary matching). This helps to efficiently distribute the computational load on the user's hardware.

Option to set frame rate in the "File processing" window

Now users have option to set the frequency of the frame processing out of entire video file when working with files. Limiting the number of processed frames enables more efficient use of computer resources and provides more stable system operation. This significantly improves performance and helps to achieve better results when processing files.

The newly released version of Avedex 1.7.0 for automatic analysis of vehicle traffic

The newly released version of Avedex 1.7.0 for automatic analysis of vehicle traffic introduces the following functionality and options for the users:
• Added ability to switch between video channels from the launch window
• Reports now are presented in a more convenient and detailed way
• Added functionality to select video detector

About the update:
Additional utility tool for generation of the reports in .docx and .xlsx formats. The reports with analytics’ results are now more informative and detailed. The users can specify the date and type of vehicles when forming the reports.
Functionality to create the pre-sets for video channels

Now the users can save their settings for video channels’ control zones. If the signal from the cameras would be lost or the user would open a new video file, the new functionality allows to save all previous setting video channels’ control zones. This helps to quickly switch between channels and prevents the continuous need for setting of new zones.

Ability to choose the preferred means for video decoding (i.e. CPU or GPU)
Now the software offers an ability to distribute the computational demands between central and graphics processing units. This allows to improve the overall productivity which allows the software to process the data quicker.

The new changes in “Analytics” window:
• Filtering based on control zones
• Bar chart for data visualisation

Ability to switch between video channels in the launch window
In the previous versions of AVEDEX it was possible to switch between channels only by reconnecting camera or reloading video. The user interface now includes grid elements for the display of active channel number and switching between video channels.

Export of an unfinished sessions
The users now have the ability to export collected data without the need for interrupting current session. In the “Statistics Export” window there is an added option to have continuous observation session. To enable this option, the user would have to select an ellipsis (…) in the “End date” field.

Microsoft SQL relational database management system is changed to PostgreSQL
With the support of new PostgreSQL relational database management system, the processing of data is quicker and the data takes less storage space.
Ability to display information on LED panel
Added functionality to display the information for accounted vehicles on LED panel. This functionality addresses tasks that require to display the quantity of a vehicles – at parking lots, for instance.

Generation of the reports for software operation for providing technical support
If the users would detect any unforeseen errors in the software, the ability to generate such report allows the technical support to identify and correct errors in software operation quickly and efficiently. This added functionality for the internal software check automatically collects information for the software operation over entire period of the software use. Such report may contain the following:
• information about errors
• information about the system
• changes in settings, etc.

Processing of visual data using CPU: making AVEDEX more affordable without loss in quality and productivity of analysis

AVEDEX software for quantitative analysis of vehicle and pedestrian traffic is now optimised for direct utilisation of CPU resources for its operation, which previously relied exclusively on GPU.

According to Mr. Maxim Venediktov, General Director of Mallenom Technologies, “given the current dynamics in prices and overall availability of graphic processing units, exclusive utilisation and reliance on GPUs in our solution makes us and our clients extremely dependent on demand and supply shocks for electronic components. Overall, it reduces our ability to meet the needs of our clients which, therefore, negatively impacts our competitive advantage”. Mr. Venediktov continues by stating that introduction of support for performing visual data processing using CPU resources allows to reduce the final cost of solution for our clients substantially without any loss in quality or efficiency of performed analysis.

Besides this important step in making AVEDEX software more accessible, AVEDEX now features improved algorithms for counting vehicles and pedestrians. Furthermore, some additional functionality has been introduced; for instance, export of reports now can be performed given a pre-defined schedule. This feature eliminates the needs for manual export of data, which now can be automatically performed by system and saved on a local drive, FTP-server or be send via an email at a specified time by a user.

AVEDEX 1.3.0 – update of the software for automatic counting and analysis of vehicle traffic

We are proud to announce the release of new version of the software for vehicle traffic analysis – AVEDEX 1.3.0.

What’s new:

* Increased number of vehicle categories that are used for classification.
* Added functionality to process the video image received from cameras with different viewing angles.
* Expanded options for the export of data.
* Improved efficiency for the video processing.

Added number of recognised vehicle types

Now AVEDEX includes the recognition of vehicles in up to 7 categories (trucks, busses, minibuses, motorcycles, heavy machinery, etc.).

Ability to process up to 8 video channels simultaneously

Now, up to 8 video cameras can be connected to AVEDEX for simultaneous processing. The software processes each video stream in real time. The user can configure several lanes for counting vehicles in each video channel.

Added functionality for accelerated processing of video file

The processing of video file is carried out without display of the image in the playback window. This allows to improve the rate of video file processing by 3-4 times in comparison to the previous version of AVEDEX.

Added functionality to measure the average speed of the traffic flow and speed of a specific vehicle

AVEDEX now has the functionality for the user to set the recognition zone for measurement of vehicle speed. Based on the collected data, the user can analyse the average speed of vehicle traffic and detect the traffic jams within short distance.

Added display of traffic statistics in form of tables and diagrams

For the improvement of user experience, the software now displays the traffic data in the following two formats:
* using tables
* using diagrams

Collected data and obtained statistics can be exported into the file. The user can now examine traffic statistics for a day, week, month or for entire period of observations.

Added export of data in .xml, csv and .xlsx formats

All collected data, as a result of automatic vehicle counting, can now be exported in a format that is convenient for a user: .xml, csv and .xlsx.

Ability to analyse pedestrian traffic

As of today, our engineers are hard at work to bring the next version of AVEDEX which will include the tools for analysis of pedestrian traffic such as counting of people. Gathering and processing of this information can be found useful for assessment of capacity of sidewalks and pedestrian zones near the shopping centres and other crowded places.

This event has taken place in Technopark Skolkovo. More than 350 speakers participated in the conference.
